Power pop rocker and a regular TIG choice in the office, Jason Lyles has released his latest single, ‘Divided Life,’ a powerful anthem about holding onto hope in a divided America. This single is the fifth release leading up to his upcoming album, ‘Suspensions of Disbelief,’ set for release this autumn.

‘Divided Life’ tackles the deep divisions in contemporary American society. With influences from Americana/Alt Country artists like Drive-By Truckers and Jason Isbell, Jason delivers a narrative on the contrasting values and politics affecting the nation. This time, the track blends Jason’s power pop vibe with a more Americana sound, but still retains his stylistic, interesting, and introspective lyrics.

The song also features violinist Stephanie Brooks and guitarist Gabe Lane. The music video, starring Jason’s daughter Rosie, depicts the struggles of young Americans in a divided landscape. Shot and edited by Jason, with help from Joseph Tyler Green and David Relano, the video reflects on the current challenges facing youth.

Jason explains, “This song is about America’s fractured state and how it affects young people growing up amid negativity and extremism. It’s also a call for reflection on how we reached this point and how to move forward.”

‘Divided Life’ follows previous singles (and TIG favourites!) ‘The Light,’ ‘Deflated,’ ‘The Light (Acoustic),’ and ‘Salvage.’ With the full-length release ‘Suspensions of Disbelief’ on the horizon, we at TIG are wholeheartedly looking forward to it.

‘Divided Life’ is now available on all major streaming platforms. So, what are you waiting for?
