When she first broke through with her captivating debut album ‘The Journey Of The Soul’ in 2020, London-based artist Sevde quickly established herself as one of the more alluring names on the rise. Keeping the production as stripped-back as possible to reveal her proficient playing style, she turned plenty of heads with her broad and emotive presence. And now after a few years away, she returns once again to deliver her eagerly-awaited new EP ‘Güzergah’, a collection brimming with warmth and vigour throughout.

Much like what we got to experience from her initial offering, ‘Güzergah’ continues that bold and enigmatic pursuit of immersive violin and piano playing throughout. Exploring a multitude of textures and tones throughout this vibrant three-track outing, Sevde finds herself in one of her more emotionally-charged guises to date.

With the opening effort ‘Hasret’ sitting as a progressive instrumental offering, honing solely on her stellar violin playing, its second cut ‘Sultanim’ sees her showcase her vocal prowess against a vibrant piano-led production. Its final track ‘The Journey’ closes out this chapter of her legacy in passionate style, exploring a wistful piano compositions that ebbs and flows from start to finish.

Despite only three songs in length, ‘Güzergah’ certainly packs plenty of variety and innovation into it. Brimming with this tender and captivating aesthetic throughout, Sevde continues her enigmatic ascent as one of the more compelling names emerging from the capital right now.
