Miles Jenson returns with “Country Club,” the provocative lead single from his upcoming EP Sunshine Goldmine, out June 20th. Produced by Grammy-winner King Garbage, the track pairs soulful grooves with unflinching social commentary, taking aim at the class and racial biases in media portrayals of addiction.

Inspired by coverage of Atlanta’s “Heroin Triangle,” Jenson opens with the piercing lines: “Quarterback in cotillion / Prom queens on heroin / Father on Ashley Madison / Detox with a four car drive.” The result is a sharp, satirical gut-punch wrapped in warm, layered production.

Sunshine Goldmine explores the personal and political with a genre-blurring sound that draws from Stax soul, Radiohead’s experimentation, and Fiona Apple’s lyrical candor. With “Country Club,” Jenson continues to carve out a space all his own—fearless, soulful, and unapologetically honest.
