Ever since he first broke through, Philadelphia’s Blue w3rD has always looked to venture towards a broader and more immersive aesthetic than many of his peers. And after a fascinating array of releases these last few years, he recently returned with his compelling new gem ‘Gods Amongst Men’.
So with the new release doing the rounds right now, we sat down with him to find out more about his background and what he has planned for the months ahead as well.

Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got started in music?
Came up on neo soul and hip hop. Started writing poetry around 10-11. The rest is history.
Who are your biggest musical influences and how have they shaped your sound?
Eyem inspired by all forms of music but being a hip hop baby that came up on dope flows and lyricism eye tend to stick to that. While exploring afrobeats dance and drill music
Was there a specific moment or experience that made you decide to pursue music seriously?
Just a pure love for it. Been making music seriously for over a decade now.
Can you walk us through your typical songwriting process?
Eye have no specific structure when it comes to song writing emotions and how the music makes me feel usually do the writing for me.
How do you find inspiration for your music and lyrics?
Life is my ultimate inspiration.
What themes or messages do you hope listeners take away from your music?
Spirituality knowledge of self, one love, self mastery, my personal story.
What challenges have you faced as an emerging artist in the music industry?
My biggest challenge has been reaching the people that are looking for my music. Getting to that niche core base of fans in order to organically expand.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of your musical journey so far?
The lives eye have positively effected with my art.
How do you stay true to yourself and your artistry in a constantly evolving industry?
Staying grounded in my foundation and spiritual practices.

Where do you see yourself and your music career in the next five years?
My music will be synonymous with my art. When you speak of Blue one will envision “fine art hip hop”.
