Stepping out from Wisconsin roots into Nashville’s big stage, Anna Dahl makes a bold first impression with her debut EP ‘Little Bit Country’. It’s a collection with a voice that knows exactly what it wants to say.

The centrepiece is ‘C-O-W-B-O-Y’, a playful country-rock anthem that struts with confidence. Its hook is immediate, but what lingers is Dahl’s fun, flirty, and fiercely independent perspective. She’s not pining for forever; she’s revelling in the moment, reclaiming the cowboy trope with a wink and a kick of dust. It’s the kind of track made for late-night dance floors, where laughter and freedom go hand in hand.

Elsewhere, Dahl reveals her range. ‘Top Shelf’ flips barroom cliché into a declaration of self-worth, a drinking song with a backbone that encourages women to expect more than cheap thrills. ‘Take Me to the Ritz’ captures the vibe of dirt-bike adrenaline by day, high-thread-count sheets by night, wrapped in a chorus as fun as the life it celebrates. On the quieter side, ‘Weight of a Heartbreak’ delivers her most vulnerable performance yet, a ballad heavy with loss but lit by the possibility of moving forward.

What elevates ‘Little Bit Country’ is its sense of place and purpose. Recorded at Nashville’s Sound Emporium and sharpened with the help of producer Don Miggs, the EP wears its influences proudly while carving out Dahl’s own lane in a crowded country-rock landscape. There’s a mix of polish and personality here that feels radio-ready without losing its edge.

At its heart, ‘Little Bit Country’ is about reclamation of joy, strength, and the right to live loudly on your own terms. Dahl has spent years honing her craft, and this EP proves the wait was worth it. She’s a voice with something fresh to say, and a presence impossible to ignore.

With ‘Little Bit Country’, Anna Dahl plants her boots firmly on the ground, and makes sure we’re all paying attention.
