Peppermint Heaven have never been content to sit neatly inside one aesthetic. The LA pairing built their reputation on neon-lit synth hooks and a love of vintage textures, but with ‘Nothing More Than Love (The Remixes)’, they fling the doors wide open and let the strobes take over.

From the first cut, this is a full-throttle club reimagining, where the original’s romantic core is hurled into darker rooms and faster tempos. What once shimmered now surges.

Kue steps up first, delivering a high-velocity drum and bass interpretation that feels engineered for the small hours. The bassline is relentless, rolling beneath razor-sharp percussion, while flashes of the original melody dart in and out like memory fragments under flashing lights. It’s kinetic, sweaty, and unapologetically built for bodies in motion. If you’ve ever chased sunrise from a dancefloor, you’ll recognise the feeling instantly.

While Happy Robot Army takes a different route, though no less intense. Operating behind anonymity, the producer twists the track into something unpredictable and restless. The beats hover around breakneck territory, yet the arrangement never feels mechanical. Instead, it bends and morphs, constantly shifting its centre of gravity. There’s tension in the drops, and a sense of controlled chaos that keeps you guessing where the next hit will land.

The additional cuts of Hyperdrive and Ironbound round out the collection with equally punchy transformations. Each remix treats the source material as raw fuel, pushing it toward the rave spectrum without losing its emotional DNA. The result is a cohesive yet varied EP that proves how elastic Peppermint Heaven’s songwriting truly is.

What makes this release particularly satisfying is the contrast. Known for their glossy, retro-leaning pop craftsmanship, the duo here demonstrate that their melodies can withstand distortion, speed, and sub-heavy reinvention.

‘Nothing More Than Love (The Remixes)’ dives headfirst into the underground dance culture, and for longtime followers and new listeners alike, this is Peppermint Heaven at their most daring.
