South Coast rock outfit The Fever Dreams follow recent single ‘Hairclip Things’ with ‘Fuel’, their most aggressive release to date and a track seemingly designed with packed venues in mind.
Powered by abrasive guitars, muscular riffs and flashes of lead guitar, ‘Fuel’ finds the band pushing considerably further into heavier territory. Its confrontational character extends to the lyrics, which transform the aftermath of a relationship into a defiant farewell, complete with plenty of attitude and a knowing touch of innuendo.
The arrangement became a full-band effort as the song developed, with drummer Jake introducing a double-time breakdown while bassist Will added the descending melodic figure running through the chorus.
The release arrives during a period of growing momentum for the longtime friends. The Fever Dreams have topped the South Coast Music Charts, received backing from Voice FM and Amazing Radio UK and US, and headlined London venues including The Dublin Castle and Half Moon Putney.
