Brazilian composer and multidisciplinary artist Ana Schurmann has released ‘Peacemakers’, an ambitious new single that brings together the different strands of her work across music, scientific research and social advocacy.
Continuing her innovative approach, the self-produced track features ten instruments, ranging from piano, guitars and flutes to layered vocals and Schurmann’s own Neck Lyre, a functional instrument conceived as a piece of haute jewellery. Its expansive arrangement provides the backdrop for a song centred on unity, compassion and the protection of vulnerable children, with the project supporting Lar Recanto do Carinho.
‘Peacemakers’ arrives during a particularly interesting period in her career. In 2025, she began translating gravitational-wave observations from the LIGO–Virgo–KAGRA network into musical structures as part of The Scientific Symphony of the Universe, developed alongside researchers connected with the scientific community and Brazil’s Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica.
A former international model whose fashion work has included major publications and luxury houses, Ana Schurmann has increasingly brought these previously separate disciplines together.
With this new release, that multidisciplinary approach finds a clear purpose by using creativity as both an expression and a means of encouraging curiosity, connection and social responsibility.
