LA’s underground funk mainstays Brassroots District have unveiled ‘Aim High’, a groove-driven single that highlights the ensemble’s tight musicianship and message-centred songwriting. Built around syncopated horns and locked-in rhythm work, the track features charismatic vocal interplay from Ursa Major and Copper Jones, urging listeners to trust themselves and step boldly into new territory.

The song marks the fifth release from their forthcoming self-titled album, arriving January 29 on For The People Records, a label founded by Ursa Major’s brother Gil Williams. Previous singles, including ‘Together’, have gained traction on regional radio, further establishing the group’s position in LA’s vibrant funk community.

To celebrate the album, Brassroots District will host a month-long residency at Jewel’s Catch One, with dates running across February and March.
