Irish singer-songwriter John Hynes unveils his much-anticipated debut album, ‘A Man In Love‘, today. Building on the success of his chart-topping singles ‘Caroline, I’m Yours’ and ‘I’m Gonna Try’, John delivers a collection of songs that delve deep into the essence of love, life, and modern masculinity.

The album’s lead single, ‘From The First’, premiered on Valentine’s Day, offering a glimpse into the profound storytelling and musical craftsmanship that define John’s work. Produced by Gavin Glass, renowned for his collaborations with artists like David Keenan and Lisa Hannigan, and featuring contributions from esteemed musicians such as Cormac Curran (Villagers, Hozier, John Grant), Ken Mooney (The Mary Wallopers), Gareth Quinn-Redmond (Glen Hansard, David Keenan), and Scott Halliday (Prince), ‘A Man In Love’ not only promises, but also delivers, a fantastic listening experience.

Reflecting on the album’s title, John shares, “Once I had that title in mind, there was never an alternative.” Inspired by Karl Ove Knausgaard’s introspective journey through love, parenthood, and personal growth, ‘A Man In Love’ encapsulates John Hynes’ exploration of emotional depth and vulnerability through music.

John Hynes Singer Songwriter

John Hynes has the ability to draw listeners into his world of introspection and nostalgia. The album cover, reminiscent of Marvin Gaye’s iconic artwork, serves as a visual gateway to John’s soulful melodies and poignant lyricism.

Ed Smith of Today FM describes Hynes as ‘Stunning… our own Father John Misty’, highlighting the artist’s unique blend of introspection and musical finesse. I’d also go as far as to say that the musical ease exhibited is reminiscent of ‘the Caruso of Rock’ himself, the late Roy Orbison.

TIG heartily recommends you listen to this album today – you will not regret a single second of it!
