Rising singer-songwriter Miles Jenson has released “Sunshine Goldmine,” the evocative title track from his forthcoming debut EP, out June 20 via an independent release. Produced by Grammy-winner King Garbage (Leon Bridges, The Weeknd, Jon Batiste), the track weaves eerie strings, sparse piano, and soul-steeped vocals into a cinematic exploration of excess, disassociation, and the fragile pursuit of peace.
Inspired by a surreal teenage experience involving a mistaken drug encounter and emotional detachment, Jenson describes the song as “a metaphor for how people’s obsession with appearances can motivate denial of harsher realities.” It’s the latest in a line of bold, socially conscious work from the Nashville-bred artist, following his previous single “Country Club,” which tackled race and class through the lens of media coverage.
“Sunshine Goldmine” signals a major milestone for Jenson, his first fully realised body of work following years of personal evolution, sobriety, and creative risk. The three-track EP blends political subtext with introspective storytelling, elevated by King Garbage’s genre-bending production. With tour dates on the horizon and a full-length project in the works, Jenson emerges as a fearless new voice in alternative soul.
