Singer-songwriter Miles Jenson has released his long-awaited debut EP, Sunshine Goldmine, a striking three-track statement of identity and introspection produced by Grammy-winner King Garbage (Leon Bridges, The Weeknd, Jon Batiste). Drawing on everything from Stax-era soul to Radiohead’s eerie beauty, Jenson weaves together haunting balladry and genre-defying soundscapes in a project that cuts deep with honesty.
Released alongside the full EP is “Turn On A Dime”, a new single that shows Jenson at his most tender. Inspired by Chet Baker’s smoky croon, it’s a slow-burning meditation on the tension between vulnerability and self-preservation in love. “It’s about finding that line between being thoughtful and losing yourself,” he explains. “How do you evolve without erasing who you are?”
Sunshine Goldmine is both soul-search and social critique. Previous singles like “Country Club” confront media narratives around race and privilege, while the title track explores substance abuse and escapism through lush, metaphoric storytelling. But at its heart, the EP is about reclamation of voice, purpose, and truth. “This is the first time I’ve fully honoured myself,” says Jenson, who walked away from a major label deal to make this project on his own terms.
