After a whirlwind year of touring and the acclaimed release of her debut album Something Bigger, rising Irish singer-songwriter Sarah Keane is back with Katy, a tender, humorous ode to friendship and emotional unravelling.

Inspired by a real late-night phone call to her friend Katy during a particularly chaotic day, the track captures a moment of vulnerability that many will find achingly familiar. “There’s that old saying, when it rains, it pours,” Sarah explains. “This was one of those days — I just couldn’t stop spiraling. Katy grounded me like she always does.”

Produced by long-time collaborator Dave Skelton, Katy blends Keane’s distinctively warm storytelling with a pop-folk sensibility that’s fast becoming her trademark. It’s a song that balances emotional overload with levity, carried by Sarah’s expressive vocals and sharp lyrical wit.

Since the release of Something Bigger, Keane has garnered widespread attention, with support from RTÉ Radio 1, BBC, and critics across Ireland and the UK. Hot Press praised her debut as “an enormously compelling listen,” highlighting her ability to make the personal feel universal.
