While originally breaking through back in 2018, it has been over these last few years that Namibian rapper Proklaim has really come into his own. Turning out new and eclectic releases every few weeks, his adventurous endeavours have led him to explore a multitude of diverse genres, always searching for that perfect sound to suit his progressive vocal flow. And after a run of much-loved offerings once again, he is back with his captivating new groove ‘BIENVENIDOS’.
Feeling far more stripped-back than the textured production we are used to from him, ‘BIENVENIDOS’ sets itself up as a wonderfully warm and inviting listen. With its rich and evocative tones tightening his lyrical prowess once again, there is something far more inventive about this new one, something that sets it apart from his compelling run of releases to date.
While many have compared him to the likes of Kendrick Lamar on previous cuts, his latest material feels far more honed to his own individual ideals. Looking to develop more of a distinctive sound he can call his own, ‘BIENVENIDOS’ feels like the first of many new offerings we can expect in this style moving forward.
Given his sheer creative strength over the last few months, Proklaim is still managing to keep his head above water and unveil yet another proficient example of his journey so far.
