Over these last few months, Australian artist Sunset Salore has been busy crafting a distinctive direction for herself. Searching for inspiration throughout her own life experiences has led her down this warm and emotive path as she looks to hone this deeply personal moment in her career to date. And after some strong soul-searching recently, she is now ready to break out and release her vibrant debut single ‘Call It’.

Adopting this wonderfully rich and soul-inspired aesthetic for her opening number, ‘Call It’ makes for a brilliantly alluring listen. Addressing all the little micro-moments in a relationship that just don’t stack up anymore, her first piece of material is this deeply relatable ode to dysfunctional relationships that we can all find solace in.

While the soul grooves certainly have a nostalgic feel to them, the record’s general tone is far more contemporary than many in her field. Adding just a dash of electronic eccentricity into its production gives ‘Call It’ a brilliantly unique sound as Sunset Salore delivers some beautifully majestic vocals throughout.

It may be her first piece of music so far, but ‘Call It’ is a firm and confident debut, brimming with passion throughout. Moving between the retro and modern textures as it plays, this multifaceted delight sets her up as one of the more innovative names emerging right now.
