Rich Chambers returns with another earworm to add to his growing repertoire, this time with ‘Don’t Go Jo’. This track is a lively pop-rock cut born out of a sleepless night and a flash of inspiration. Hailing from Vancouver, Chambers once again proves his skill for writing catchy, melody-driven tunes that sit comfortably between vintage charm and a modern edge.

Entirely crafted from start to finish by Chambers himself, the track is a testament to the power of homegrown creativity. Working with modest gear in his own space, he blends analogue sensibilities with current-day production to create something refreshingly timeless. The result is a song that feels like it could just as easily belong on a jukebox from the ’70s or a Spotify playlist today.

The heart of ‘Don’t Go Jo’ lies in its undeniable hook, a chorus that lodges itself in your head and refuses to leave. But there’s a warmth behind the punchy guitar lines and upbeat rhythm, grounded in Chambers’ genuine love for storytelling and songcraft. He writes from instinct, the kind that pulls you out of bed in the middle of the night and won’t let you rest until the song is finished.

In the words of Chambers, this was exactly his experience, ‘I woke up one night at 3 am. Finding myself wide awake and beyond restless, I reached beside my bed for my guitar and started strumming a few chords. 30 minutes later I had the song completely written. I put the guitar down and went straight back to sleep. Rarely do songs come to me that quickly, but [it] sure is nice when they do, even if it is in the middle of the night.‘

‘Don’t Go Jo’ is a product of persistence, passion, and an artist who simply loves what he does. And when that kind of dedication meets undeniable melodic instincts, you get something like ‘Don’t Go Jo’, a track that doesn’t just ask for your attention, it earns it.
