Originally formed as a solo project for frontman Chandra Nair before growing into a full-fledged four-piece, Bristol’s Chandra have spent much of the last few years perfecting their pop-rock direction. Churning out a breadth of warm and inviting anthems over the years, the band has quickly caught the eye of many tastemakers as they look to build upon their dynamic aesthetic of late. And with their previous release ‘I’ll Be There’ causing quite the stir, they return once again to unveil their riveting new single ‘Lifted’.

Looking to pursue a more evocative texture this time around, ‘Lifted’ continues that broad and euphoric energy they have been cultivating, but angled it towards more heartfelt songwriting. Creating this style that would sound absolutely divine belted out of a festival stage, their newest outing comes across as their most confident cut to date.

Taking full advantage of the backing vocals from his bandmates, Nair offers up some wonderfully bright and emotive lyrics throughout. Channelling his inner Springsteen to provoke a strong and stirring response as it plays, he certainly gets the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up here.

These last few years have certainly been a great chance for Chandra to explore some more innovative ideas, but adding these new members has really brought out the best in his sound. Standing tall and delivering the track with sheer gusto from start to finish, they are certainly looking to make their mark on the mainstream with this one.
