Earlier this year, London-based duo Lemon Sex Cake broke through with their anthemic debut single ‘Whiskey Sour’. A blistering electro-rock entry to the new music scene, one that has quickly established them as one of the more innovative names doing the rounds right now. And with the buzz surrounding them continuing to build, they are back once again to deliver their vibrant sophomore offering ‘Rolling Block Rifle’.

Still very much akin to that immersive direction they first emerged with, ‘Rolling Block Rifle’ feels a bit more dancefloor-friendly than their previous outing. Adding this disco-esque flair to the production, heightened by the bouncing beats and basslines, they are cultivating a wildly enjoyable sound for themselves to explore here.

Focusing more on the hooks and texture of this new release, ‘Rolling Block Rifle’ continues to push itself out of its comfort zone as it plays. Moving with this strong and subtle elegance within the grooves, Lemon Sex Cake have returned to the fold with one of the more enjoyable cuts we have heard in months.

Things may still only just be kicking off for them right now, but tracks like ‘Rolling Block Rifle’ are born of pure adventurous spirit, something these two have in bags. Distinctive and original at every turn, we can’t wait to hear where this journey is going to take them next.
