Fort Worth Americana six-piece Left Arm Tan continue an inspiring return with ‘Amsterdam’, a beautifully understated new single taken from forthcoming comeback album When Tigers Smoked.

Following August’s ‘Rolling Under The Stars’, the track strips the band’s sound back without ever feeling sparse. Warm Americana foundations meet traditional European folk influences, creating something that seems equally at home beneath Texas skies or spilling from an old continental tavern.

Its arrival carries additional significance following songwriter Daniel Hines’ multiple surgeries, which left his future as a performer uncertain. His eventual return to writing and recording has now resulted in a new run of music culminating in When Tigers Smoked.

Previously described by Saving Country Music as one of Americana’s best-kept secrets, Left Arm Tan sound revitalised. Thoughtful, intimate and wonderfully crafted, ‘Amsterdam’ makes their comeback feel all the more special.
