Galway’s TaLLLon deliver their most exhilarating statement yet with ‘Go Back Again’, a soaring alt-rock anthem that transforms nostalgia, growing older and the people we carry with us into something genuinely uplifting.
From its driving guitars and enormous rhythms to sweeping synth textures and a brilliantly cathartic breakdown, ‘Go Back Again’ feels built to be played loud. The young quartet pull together post-grunge muscle, melodic immediacy and their own increasingly confident indie-rock identity, creating a track that feels both deeply personal and gloriously expansive.
Beginning with a guitar riff that stayed in vocalist and guitarist Liam Carroll’s head for months, the song quickly blossomed once the band began working on it together. Ultan Krause brought in its standout breakdown and Cian Geraghty strengthened the low-end dynamics, with TaLLLon remarkably performing the completed arrangement live on the very day they decided it was finished.
The recording carries additional significance through the drums of Adam Nagajek, TaLLLon’s close friend and drummer, who died from cancer in October 2025. His performance remains part of the finished track, adding another deeply moving layer to a song already concerned with memory, absence and holding onto the moments that shape us.
With debut EP ‘Found and Forgotten’ on the way, ‘Go Back Again’ captures a young band discovering just how powerful they can sound. Huge, heartfelt and bursting with momentum, it’s an outstanding glimpse of where TaLLLon could go next.
